Uncle Strawberry is an international artist based in St. Louis. Strawberry’s
work explicitly references pop culture’s relationship to Generation Y, the
largest cohort since the baby boomers. Using cartoons characters as muses, Strawberry examines the sophistication of the millennials as it relates to technology and they’re immunity to traditional marketing methods having been exposed to it during childhood through animation, and entertainment.
His work, nostalgic and sometimes satirical remind us of a time filled with cereal commercials and gaudy action figures, a time when television ratings systems were introduced to prevent children who never wanted to grow up at all from growing up too fast.
