Marcel Katz Art is proud to represent Kourosh Keynejad at this year’s Context Art Fair during Miami Art Week.
"The purpose and mission of my work displayed at Context Art Fair this year is to bring awareness and a sense of urgency to the rising temperatures of our planet, and the effect it is having on the ice and glaciers around the world. This year alone, a 700 year old Glacier in Iceland has melted into the sea and disappeared forever. There have been fires throughout the Arctic, from Alaska, through Siberia, to Greenland. This is the one of the most important subjects of our lifetime. It’s time we address it on all levels of social awareness. Especially art." - Kourosh Keynejad
AN ICE WORLD
“Our Planet has gone through Ice Age’s multiple times. Much of the ice from the last Ice Age still remains on our planet and is allowing the Earth to maintain a sustainable temperature for life. I think understanding the importance of preserving our remaining glaciers and ice sheets is crucial for our planet’s well-being. This shows a closer look to what a glacier looks like.”
THE MELTING GLACIERS OF GREENLAND
“The Ilulisat Icefjord on the west coast of Greenland is known for his annual release of enormous icebergs into the sea. Due to the global rising temperatures this summer, this ice fjord had the same amount of ice-melt in 1 month as an average year. When I heard this astonishing fact, I decided to head out here to see it for myself. With the immense beauty of this, comes the unbelievable reality that these pieces of ice will melt into the sea never to be seen again.”
